My old website was built using Hugo, however I do the majority of my writing in Obsidian. I wanted a way to easily export content from Obsidian to Hugo, whilst keeping my writing flow elegant, and not having to manually deal with any of the Hugo quirks.
It’s improved my workflow massively as it allows me to focus on writing, and once I’m done I can easily export my notes without leaving Obsidian.
This is a work in progress, but some of the features I’ve implemented and found useful are the following:
- Automatically creates title frontmatter from Obsidian note title
- Only exports notes that contain Hugo frontmatter
- Automatically converts Obsidian internal links to web urls
It’s an iterative process and I still have things I want to implement to make my workflow more seamless, but it’s great to keep my brain in obsidian and not have to copy/paste notes across different platforms!
